Interview: Couples on Cam

Have you ever wondered what the difference was between solo and couples camming? Here is the interview I did with Ed & Krystal regarding their experience.

Are you dating in real life?
We are an actual couple. We’ve been together, off and on, for 3 years. We enjoy a “semi-open” relationship as we invite girls on the show and Krystal will share me with them.

Do you think couples get more tokens and views than solo performers? Why or why not?
Couples vs. singles is probably a lot closer than you would think. But I would guess that couples get more views based on what I’ve seen. We do both couple and singe shows, and we generally get more viewers when we do shows together.

Do you only do couples shows? Or do you individually do solo shows as well?
We do both kinds of shows because our viewers  like to get one-on-one attention. But they love to see us together too. It really just depends on the mood of the rooms sometimes. If the solo thing isn’t coming across like we want, we’ll switch to a couples show.

From time to time, one person may receive more attention than the other. Does this ever bring up feelings of jealousy? If so, how do you cope with it?
We have a funny situation related to that. I built a decent following doing solo shows while Krystal was…….well…. she was in jail – but that’s a story for another time. LOL. And this group of loyal followers never fail to let Krystal know they are there to see me for the most part. Example: We were doing a threesome show and I had to step off camera for a second, to talk to someone at the door. While I was gone the girls were sitting there visiting with the viewers and they were flooded with “Where’s Ed?!” and “Is Ed coming back soon?!”. Two beautiful girls sitting naked on my bed, and the room wanted me back on cam. We have a great sense of humour about it, so it doesn’t bother us much. The best way to cope with any kind of jealousy issues is to just communicate boundaries and set up “rules” before uncomfortable situations create opportunities for jealous feelings.

Do you feel camming helps your relationship, or is it strictly for financial gain?
It started as a way to spice things up in the bedroom, but it quickly turned into more. Somehow, we felt closer to each other by sharing our most intimate things with total strangers. It built a sense of trust between us that has bled over into our everyday life. We are a team now, striving for the same goals. The money is great and we love our big tippers, but we are not in it for the cash.

Whose idea was it to start camming?
It was totally, and 100% Krystal’s idea. She was surprised I even agreed to do it! It just wasn’t in my character to do something like that. I was married for almost 20 years and had 7 kids before I met Krystal so this was outside my comfort zone. But I took to it pretty fast and found out a lot about myself in the process. Now I wish I had started a lot sooner!

Thank you so much to Ed and Krystal for agreeing to do this interview.

And most importantly, here is their chaturbate link. As stated above, they aren’t in it for the money but who doesn’t love a good tip?

“Mods”- A Quick Run Down

Once you’re deep into the camming world, it can be hard to keep up with your chat rooms while simultaneously performing. Thankfully, one of your awesome fans will most likely offer to moderate your chat.

Here’s what your “mod” should do:
-Answer repetitive questions
-Learn your tip menu, and inform new viewers
-Silence disrespectful users (up to 6 hours)

Here’s what they shouldn’t do:
-Go on a power trip “squishing greys¹”
-Demand free services in return
-Neglect your broadcast

Some users suggest “trial runs” with potential mods where they only allow them to run the chat for one day. That way you don’t have to go through the awkwardness of retracting the responsibilities.

All moderators are different: some do it for free, some in exchange for services or tokens. Figure out what’s best for you- know your worth + tax.

Happy camming.
Love always,
Amy

Interview: Evanu on Viewing Cams

Welcome back to the blog. Today we’re diving into another interview, but this time with a viewer.

So, you’re a viewer who hasn’t cammed in his life?

Evanu: Oh yes. Good thing too. I hate to think where the Lovense would have to go.

What kind of cam categories are your favorites? (ie, couples, trans, single female/male ect.)

Evanu: I feel honoured and privileged to be in the bedrooms of the single females. I respect them as being younger and often quite lovely. This is wonderfully supportive of my orientation and it makes me feel more manly.

What makes a cam model special?

Evanu: I look for personality, style, freshness and creativity. I like interacting with positive and playful models who seem present and responsive. Life force is important for me and I enjoy models who appear to love what they are doing. Especially when they are experiencing release through orgasm. This is a visual gift different than any other types of media since it is live, personal and interactive.

What makes cams better than porn? (if you consider them to be, and if not, what makes porn better?)

Evanu: Oh, there are a lot of things. Top on my list is the aspect of how relaxed the models are in their own environment. They are self managed, directed and often quite disciplined. I feel that this venue provides many opportunities for self discovery and personal growth. Over all, I think it is a wonderful form of adult entertainment.

Do you consider watching cam models to be cheating?

Evanu: This is a great question. The answer would depend on the deeper motive for visiting. If a person is in a relationship with a close partner with whom they are having sex, I feel it is important that a man to be able to stand in his own reality and discuss this with his partner at some point. Living in a state of hiding, cheating and being mousy about one’s life and sexuality shows a weakness of character and personal integrity. But, discretion is important, too. It is important to consider your partner’s feelings before sharing, and know how to approach something that may be a sensitive and touchy issue. This also, I feel, may be valuable for opening discussion with her on topics that relate to human sexuality and eroticism.

What is the importance of tipping? /how much do you feel is an appropriate amount?

Evanu: I have never heard the phrase “Thank You!” used to often. Tipping is something that males need to consider wisely and must understand who or what is in control. One can tip over into debt quite easily, while another stays in the background absorbing visuals and never providing support for the models. The same is true for other media. I feel this is something each patron must decide for themselves based on how much they can afford and budget, and how they might choose to approach the venue. There are thousands of models available at any given time. How does one decide who to visit and support with tips, and why? There are also questions of control. Seasoned models know how to draw tips from naive visitors.  I think each person who enjoys the venue must recon with this issue at some point and learn to control themselves. This will lead to more consistent and enjoyable viewing, I believe. It is an important aspect of the male psyche to protect, support and maintain his household and friends. If I connect with a model and spend time in her bedroom I tip continuously but modestly as fits my budget. I am finding that it feels better to support a few rather than running around exploring new territory and squandering my resources. As far as an appropriate amount. Many models suggest a price list for what they are prepared to deliver. I think one should honor them when asking for services but never be afraid to negotiate. It is clear that models tend to be quite generous. We should respond in kind with someone we admire and respect.
(Check out Evanu’s blog post on tippingThis was my personal favourite)
————————

& of course a little self promo- tell me about your blog (when it started/why you started it/it’s goals & purpose)

Evanu: Having been a life coach for sex workers for many years I have come to view the camming venue as one worthy of support and positive input. I feel I have valuable resources to contribute to those who engage interactively there. I enjoy seeing others engage in self discovery and sharing their knowledge and experiences, especially when I have had a hand in their process as a facilitator.

What is the beautiful peoples project?

Evanu: The Beautiful People Project is about perfecting relationships and personal power. How we arrive at these things is very much a function of support groups of people who bring their best selves forward to share their wisdom and experience to increase stature, grace and elegance in their lives. The presence of these elements in a person’s life leads to greater and greater levels of happiness, satisfaction and joy coming from a place of personal self worth and giving.
Thank you Evanu for reaching out to me, and collaborating with me to do an interview from the perspective of a cam viewer.

C2C

Cam to cam, commonly abbreviated to “c2c” is when person a has person b’s chatroom open on their screen, and vice versa. Here’s what you need to know:

The first time someone asked me to go c2c, his response was “wow, you actually did it”. Honestly, I didn’t even view his cam, but he had received the notification that in another tab, I had opened his chatroom, and hadn’t immediately left it. I had it open on my lap top, paying no mind to it but he was unaware of my disinterest, and took gratification in the thought of me watching him.

For the record though, had he tipped me to do it, I would’ve engaged in his cam. If you’re being paid to go cam to cam, it’s always a good idea to type in their chat room, and comment on how sexy they are (or how small their dick is- I’ve been paid to do that too). For a beginner, 50 tokens for 5 minutes seems to be the going rate. As you become a more watched, and in-demand cam model, your prices rise with your popularity.

This has been a very short blog post, but I thought it was time I added a post to my “Technically Speaking” category. Thanks for the read, and I will see you next week.

6 Common Scams

Pretending to be a Family Member

Personally, this one hasn’t happened to me, but other models have talked about it. It’s also not so much a scam, but more of a stupid trick designed to rattle you. Essentially, a person enters your chat room pretending to be a family member of yours, freaking out that they’ve found you.

Photoshopped Gift Receipts

If you use Amazon as a payment method, this will guaranteed happen to you. Somebody will say they’ve sent you a gift, and produce a fake receipt to prove it. It’s easy to do this, either by using photoshop, or by actually buying the item then cancelling the order. For this reason, it’s best to only accept gift cards and purchase items yourself.

Password Show

Once you start camming, you’ll be advertised as being a new cam model, making you a prime target for this scam. Somebody will come on and tell you a word that’ll “promote your show”, when in all actuality you’re setting up a password show. Check the link for Password Shows vs. Private Shows.

Profile Designer Scam

It won’t be long before you want your cam page to look pretty & professional. To achieve this, you’re going to need a profile designer. If someone says they need to log into your account to set this up, they’re lying and they’re going to send themselves your tokens. Profile designers will actually send you a code that you will copy and paste into your bio- no password required.

Location-tracking Links

A new scam, and the most dangerous. It works like this: somebody sends you a link, and on your end it doesn’t seem to work. On theirs, they receive your location. Easy black mail material.

“Do This & I’ll Send a Good Tip”

And of course, who could forget the most classic of scams? You won’t make it a week of camming without seeing the infamous like “Do *insert thing that definitely requires a tip* and I’ll send a crazy amount of tokens.” Obviously, the tokens never come.

Thanks for reading! Shout out to an extra special (and extra sexy) reader whose birthday is tomorrow. Check back next week for another post.

When Your Job is to Masturbate

Your job is to masturbate, and while that’s as awesome as it sounds, it can be difficult to keep things hot and heavy. Here’s a quick list of tips to get you through hours of touching yourself.

  1. Invest in lube.

Do it. Do it. Nobody can stay wet forever, and your vagina will thank you. Here’s a super helpful resource for picking out the right kind for your needs.

  2. While you’re investing: sex toy cleaner.
This one isn’t a method of keeping things lubricated, but I thought it was important enough to make the list. Assumably, you’ll be using toys. Stay sanitary, ladies and gentlemen.
  3. Have a partner help you out.
You get paid for sending nudes, but whose sending you private photos? Before going online, or while you’re on, consider have someone in your real life get you in the mood. I’ve known girls who’ve had their boyfriends sext them as they’re performing to help keep them feeling sexy. Not a bad idea, in my opinion.

  4. No partner? No problem.
Porn! Or in my case, erotica! I have a private tumblr account devoted to it, and that was all I ever needed to get me good and prepared for some hot alone time. Thank you, internet.

For safety tips, click here. Don’t forget: if it goes in your butt, it shouldn’t go in your vagina, or mouth afterward & always pee after vaginal penetration. Happy masturbating. Stay wet, friends.

Amy

Making Money Offline

You’ve turned the camera off, you’ve got somewhere to be. Great news, you can still profit. Here’s a list of ways to make money while offline.

Sell Your Snapchat

Here’s how: Make a photo collection for tokens, making the second photo an image with your Snapchat username over it. Chaturbate will show the first photo as a preview of the image set, so I used the Snapchat logo.

Sell Your Nudes

Like selling your snapchat, you can do this by selling a photo set on your profile. Anyone who checks your account when your offline will have the opportunity to purchase your sexy pictures.

Fan Clubs

Members of your Fan Club should get special access to your content. Examples of this would be your photo collections, social media, customized videos, panties ect.

Sell Your Used Underwear

Speaking of panties, you can sell ’em. You can’t sell them through Chaturbate, but you can sell through another site and link it to your twitter & camming accounts. Be sure to use a website that is designed for this as most buy and sell websites do not allow used underwear to be sold.

Thanks for reading! Check back next week for a post on masturbation.

Interview: Rosie Hennessy

1. Who are you? (Stage name/Identity)
I’m Rosie Hennessy. I identify as bisexual with a preference to ladies.

2. How did you discover camming?
Well, I found out my partner has viewed cams in the past. Because I thought camming was only privates, I felt cheated on. Later I found out public chatrooms existed and that he’d never cheated in the first place. It was quite the drama.

3. What makes you different from other cam models?
I partake in the little kink. So I dress up like a little girl and act like one too. Guys really enjoy it and will try and be the highest tipper so you’ll call them daddy.

Little Kink Note: Most “littles” don’t act young 24/7, but when they do slip into their age regressed alter ego it’s called slipping into a “headspace”.

4. What tips do you have for new users?
Find something that makes you unique and play it up. Don’t be afraid to stand your ground. Never give away your name and location. Only get Snapchat if you’re prepared to work a lot.

5. What is the most outrageous thing someone has asked of you/done?
I had people really obsessed with the idea of getting off with their siblings. It was weird. They would message me and say “they were both watching me together”.

6. How has camming influenced your self image?
For the most part I think it’s improved it. It’s good to know people think I’m hot. I will say sometimes (especially with snapchat) I felt like a piece of meat. Overall though, I’d say it gave me some more self confidence.

A huge thank you to Rosie for talking about her camming experience with me for this blog. Be sure to check back next week for a post on making money when you’re offline.

Pt 2: What I Would Do Differently

To catch you up to speed, I’m considering going back to being a cam model. Click HERE to see Part One. Here’s what I’d do differently the second time around:

Social Media

I’d keep Twitter. Actually, I think I would use the same Twitter as I use now for this blog to promote the site to cam clients. I’m pretty unsure about that, but what I’m positive about is that I would never download Snapchat again. If you have read my older posts, you know that I hated that app, as it made me feel like I was constantly working. It was home of the unsolicited dick pics, and dudes who thought they’d bought a cyber-girlfriend.

Standing Out

The last time I cammed, I spent most of my shows on my rug in my bedroom. Sure, I did okay with my Lovense shows, and such but I didn’t have anything that made me stand out from the other girls. This time I plan to get a pole and put it to good use. Another idea I had is having another person (who isn’t Rosie) come on screen with me for a couples show.

Private Message

I had a really bad habit of responding to my regulars in the private message, even when they hadn’t paid for it. It took my attention off the main screen, and there were times where it felt overwhelming to flip back and forth through the people messaging me. This time around, I vow to only open the private messages if they’ve been paid for.

What did you think? Ex-cam models, what would you change about your experience camming? Check back next week for an interview from a fellow cam girl.

Amy

Pt 1: Pros & Cons of Camming

I’m considering going back to camming. I’ve been putting a lot of thought into the things I would do differently, and the pros and cons of the job in an effort to figure out if this is right for me.

Con: Some nights it feels like it takes forever to get started. For whatever reason, there will be nights that are dead, especially after you’re no longer showing up as being a new broadcaster. I mean, sure, it gets better once you develop a good following, but there are simply nights that aren’t worth your time.

Pro: With my busy life, I wouldn’t be able to find a second job that tends to my schedule. With camming, I can work when I need to. Working from home is a major bonus as well.

Con: I’ve talked about “the circle jerk” in previous posts, but it wouldn’t be a pro and con list about camming without bringing it up. It isn’t like I didn’t expect to be objectified- I knew what I was signing up for. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t get irritating when you see “I deserve to see pussy xx” and your fifth dick pic in ten minutes on your screen.

Pro: On the other hand of that, you will undoubtably be showered in compliments. I’d be lying if I said a piece of me didn’t eat up being called “beautiful” and “gorgeous” every time I logged in.

Con: A weird thing about being a cam model that nobody seems to talk about: there is constantly people messaging you trying to give you advice. Everything you offer is too cheap, or too expensive. Someone always has an idea to get you more views. Truly, the constant stream of people correcting your stream gets exhausting, and if I do go back to being a cam model, it’s something I’d need to start ignoring.

Pro: You’re constantly touching and edging yourself for an extended period of time. Some of my best orgasms have happened on camera, or shortly after it’s turned off.

I’m still undecided, but I’ll be sure to keep you all updated. Check back next week for part two: what I would do differently. Thanks for reading!

Amy
